There goes our stuff! Off to the land of the rising sun

The container left in early July to give us a little head start. It will be in transit for about 10 weeks in total, so we figured every day's early departure would be a bonus.

You've got so much stuff, when you're handling everything in your house: taking it with you, throwing it away, or keeping it. Marie Kondo would be proud of us! After hours of sorting and sorting, everything is ready for the moving crew, who start on Monday morning. With great care yet incredibly fast, they pack everything in just over a day. Even every part of the sofa is wrapped in cardboard. Nothing is recognizable anymore.

On Tuesday at noon, the container will arrive and everything will be loaded. Goodbye, all your belongings, and have a safe journey via South Africa to Singapore and the port of Kobe, from where the container will make the final leg overland to Hiroshima.
